A Digital Artist with 25 years of professional experience, Laurent Ben-Mimoun
works in the Hollywood film industry. As an accomplished concept artist,
illustrator and matte painter, Laurent has worked for companies like Marvel
and Sony Studio, Imageworks, SPA, HBO, Netflix, Universal Studios, Warner
Bros, Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Studios, Walt Disney Pictures and
many others.
Laurent's inspirational visuals and designs represent all types of production
genres, encompassing a wide range of styles. He is particularly adept in
creating ideas in the diverse facets of a film story, visual development,
production illustrations and 3d concept designs.
Prior to joining the ADG as an IMA over a decade ago, Laurent was a TAG
member and a key development artist at both Disney and Sony Animations
Studios. He was also especially known for creating incredible matte painting
environments. His work spans more than 40 films. He has enjoyed such
accolades as being nominated by the VES for Outstanding Created
Environments in a Live Action Motion Picture for the opening shot of “Phantom
of the Opera” in 2004. He has received ADG’s Honors Certificates as being
part of the team awarded for Excellence in Production Design by the Art
Directors Guild for "Passengers" in 2016. He also celebrates two Academy
Oscar wins with “The Lords of the Rings” team at Weta.
